RYA Approved Yachtmaster Training, Recreational Boaters Courses, Professional Yacht Crew Programsand Instructor Courses in Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Established in 2014 and located at Palma de Mallorca in Spain, Deep Blue Sea Training is a fully accredited RYA Training Centre providing RYA courses for leisure and recreational sailors as well as professional seafarers. The school has trained over 1000 students and find a team of qualified Yachtmaster instructors with many years of experience.
Personal attention is given the students from the start with expert instruction in classrooms or on board training vessels. The boats are fully coded to MCA category 2 (60 miles from a safe haven), have a full complement of safety equipment exceeding the standards set by the MCA for commercial vessel coding.
Many of the courses involve living aboard the yachts for several days, and they fully provision the boats with crisp, clean bedding and towels, plus the essentials for meals and drinks. A full range of RYA courses are provided for leisure and recreational sailors, along with wide range of RYA courses for professional seafarers.
Training Programs
RYA Yachtmaster Training
- Yachtmaster Theory Workshop (2.5 hours): This short Yachtmaster Theor workshop provides revision of the basics of navigation theory and charts in preparation for the Yachtmaster theory course.
- Yachtmaster / Coastal Skipper Theory Course (6 days): This course is advanced training for more experienced skippers wanting to learn how to navigate safely on coastal and offshore passages.
- Yachtmaster Offshore Sail Exam Preparation (5 days): The RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence is a highly regarded worldwide qualification proving the experience and competence of a skipper.
- Yachtmaster Offshore Motor Examination Preparation (5 days): The Yachtmaster offshore motor exam preparation week provides five days practical boat handling and revision of the theory with all aspects of the examination organized.
- Yachtmaster Sail To Motor Conversion Course: Holders of the Yachtmaster Coastal or Yachtmaster Offshore sail Certificate of Competence may take a practical conversion exam to obtain the equivalent power certificate of competence. Candidates may also convert from power to sail.
- Yachtmaster Ocean Theory Course (5 or 7 days): This advanced course is for those aspiring to blue water cruising and is ideal for holders of the Yachtmaster Offshore certificate who are preparing for their first ocean passage.
