Located in Barcelona Spain, Barcelona Watersports is a Sailing school and provides Internationally recognized English speaking courses in the center of Barcelona. The school is an RYA accredited training school and conducts training for absolute beginners right up to the more experienced boaters from Dayskipper to Yachtmaster.
Barcelona Watersports excels in providing quality RYA Training for all types of boats and at any level. With friendly and expect skippers they also run Sunset Sailing trips, private stag, hen and group charters, high speed powerboat rides and corporate team building events and regattas. All the boats are maintained to very high standards and chosen for performance, comfort and stability ideal for training, charter and exploring the stunning coastline.
Barcelona is the perfect location to start you adventure on the water, with good winds, lots of sunshine and some amazing locations to visit North and South of the city. From Barcelona going North up the Costa Brava coast to heading South and enjoying the Costa Dorada there is so many great locations to anchor, Marinas to spend the night and enjoy the local Tapas.
Training Programs
RYA Sail Training
- RYA Competent Crew Beginners Course: Completed over 2 x Weekends or 5 days Monday to Friday, this is a beginners course to teach you all the controls, sail trimming, boat handling and steering.
- RYA Day Skipper: The course has two elements, the Dayskipper theory which you can complete online or in the classroom and then the 5 day practical course.
- Coastal Skipper: Coastal Skipper course is designed for day and night navigation, taking you from day hoping to best practices for sailing longer trips.
- Yachtmaster Coastal & Offshore: The Yachtmaster is an exam with an authorized MCA/RYA examiner, with huge reward that brings massive opportunities in the boating worlds whether to become a commercial skipper or work up the ranks on the Super Yachts.
RYA Powerboat Training
- RYA Powerboat Level 1 & 2: Whether you are a beginner or someone with experience looking to gain a certificate the Powerboat Level 2 is the main license for day boat power boating.
- Bigger Boats - International Certificate of Competence over 10 meters: The course is completed on a Motor Yacht over 10 meters with accommodation onboard. The course is very practical and hands on with plenty of practice parking, tight space turning, out to sea high speed, person over board recovery, anchoring and all the skills required to be a skipper.
- Personal Watercraft: The Personal watercraft license is a one-day course covering the basics of safety onboard, launching, weather, tides and then practical hands on training on the water and driving techniques and local rules and regulation and importantly the collision regulations. You can gain the ICC with this certificate.
