U.S. Coast Guard Approved & STCW Compliant Maritime Training Programs & MSC Training Programs at Dania Beach Florida
STAR Center is a not-for-profit, ISO 9001:2008 certified training center. The center first opened at Toledo, Ohio in 1983 and expanded to the current location in Dania Beach, Florida (just south of Fort Lauderdale) in 1986. After extensive facility improvements, the operations began in 1993 with the world's first 360° field-of-view Full Mission bridge Simulator with an upgrade to the 270° field-of-view bridge simulator in 2004. The STAR Center Dania Beach campus, located at American Maritime Officers Headquarters (AMO), and is part of AMO Safety & Education Plan.
STAR Center now offers more US Coast Guard and other flag approved courses than any simulation training center. These courses meet USCG, STCW, and IMO Model requirements as well as many additional courses designed by the in-house curriculum development team to meet specific training requirements. In providing maritime training, class requirements are formally reviewed and approved by the United States Coast Guard and Military Sealift Command.
Class requirements are from one (1) day to four (4) weeks although it is often required to take multiple classes consecutively. Such programs are often scheduled in series with discounts offered for completing all classes at STAR Center.
STAR Center features the most advanced simulation training equipment including a 360° bridge, engine room, liquid Cargo, diesel electric, RADAR / ARPA, and GMDSS simulators. The Center also features in-house modeling capabilities for port development, research, and forensic maritime studies.
STAR Center also features in-house modeling capabilities for port development, research, and forensic maritime studies. They will model your vessel prior to delivery and train personnel in bridge and engine room familiarization and training.
